How to Create a Cozy Living Room on a Budget

Hey buddy! Today I want to talk about your living room-and we're not feeling too proud of the way that ratty old couch over there has to be an eyesore in our homes.(With satellite TV as free and available this is more true than ever) That one place in your home where you want to plop down and rest, where this or any other blog posts provides entertainment of every sort. A casual occasion to chat while watching favorite shows on demand or alternatively settle down with some brand new book in hand; it's all possible here! Simple Remodel Can Make Life Feel RenewedLiving room shopping My local friends and I can tell you how important even one of the tiny modifications above made me feel to finally arrive at home and relax in happiness.-As Jonathan Gold

Comfortable in Your Home Really Doesn’t Cost a Huge Fortune Homes are like people-they can be warm and inviting, warm andloving. They want to welcome you into their embrace and snugly wrap themselves around your bod. Is it possible to weave such impressions from the ground up? Yes it is. Take my word for it, even though the place is still a bare room that I’m staring at every day with its total emptiness—how to make this feel like home without draining your wallet? Well, we’ve got some ideas we’ve tried out ourselves and I think you might love them too

Start with What You Have

First things first, take a good look around. What do you already have that you can work with? Maybe it’s an old throw blanket, a stack of books, or some candles tucked away in a drawer. I took an opportunity to display away forgotten string lights from my storage container, and grandaughter I'm telling you, they made the world different instantaneouslyǃOften, the coziest touches are already at home; it just means being resourceful.

Layer It Up

Cozy turns on itself like the sun: it's all about layers! Consider soft blankets, cushy pillows and maybe even a rug to warm up the space. You don't need to buy from only one source either. Some of my favorite throws are from second hand shops and clearance bins. Vary the textures - an oversized knit throw, a pillow with faux fur, and a woven rug. If you combine these elements your living room will feel like a big hug.\\\\Pro Tip:Mix and match patterns and colors. A striped pillow next to a floral one? Yes, indeed! It’s different, it’s fun.

Lighting: Totally Can Make a Space or Crush It

Harsh overhead light just is not my style. Soft, warm light is the way to go. It doesn’t take much to throw a little light into your world. Even a cheap $20 lamp from Wal-Mart does the trick. And if you want to be super chic on a budget, you can get a set of battery operated LED candles for around $15. Don't forget about those string lights I talked about earlier. They re create the space. You can use strings [...] from in a jar to make cheap and cheerful DIY lamps. believe me good illumination can change a space faster than anything.

Bring Nature Indoors

Plants—those little pieces of happiness growing in a pot. If you’re not a plant person (yet), start with a low-maintenance plant like pothos or snake plant instead. Fake plants work, too, for those who are afraid they might not take care of them My coffee [...] table had been missing a small fern, and I can’t tell you how much vitality it brings into the room.

Personal Touches

The thing that makes a room cozy is how much it feels like you. Go big: print off some of your favorite pictures and put them in cheap plastic frames. Or do a little gallery wall with postcards, art prints, or even pages from a magazine. I have a corner where I hang polaroids and tiny things I picked up on trips, and it’s the loveliest part of my house.

Secondhand Finds Are Your BFF

Not only that—thrift stores, yard sales, and online marketplaces are all open for business. I paid only $20 for a fabulous vintage coffee table at a secondhand store that made my living room completely new. Keep an open mind and don't be afraid to do a little DIY. Refinishing an old piece can give it new life, and so can fresh paint and new hardware.

One word – launder. When you walk into a room and it smells unexpectedly good, the vibe becomes more comfortable. Go get a few inexpensive candles or take that old shopping centre with its great deals and fill 'er full of fragrant earth oils you love! Especially acceptable to me is vanilla and lavender. The scent is a miraculous situation point for you. Added points if you have in your house some cinnamon sticks or even some dried flowers. By placing these items into a bowl, voila! A natural air fresheners. 8. Set Up Little "Zones," Even In A Small Space If your living room is small, think about dividing it up into little "zones." For example, set aside a corner with one comfortable chair for reading and another cozy space to watch TV. Maybe carve out a small table on which one can have coffee every morning? Once I used an old basket to hold all my blankets in one corner and it became not only this adorable decorative installation but also highly functional. 9. Repurpose Items You Use Every Day Think aside the box–how about that ladder in your garage that's gathering dust? Perfect for hanging blankets! Those Mason jars? Candlesticks, you bet. Vase, too. Once I used a wooden crate that was about to fall apart as a side table and I get all types of compliments on it. 10. Spotless And Clutter-Free Although it's obvious, a space free of knick-knacks is somehow more welcoming than one that's full. Spend maybe five or ten minutes daily on tidying up the place, pulling your sofa or chair cushions back into place, and even adding a little spray for good measure. A clean place always feels great! So there are some ideas on how to create a cozy living room even if you're on a budget. It can be done and is honestly enjoyable. You will find that the difference between how much impact there is just due to this little change or that little revolution. So, what're you waiting for? That abandoned throw blanket can be thrown over your legs, a candle lit, and now change begins.

I would really be interested to know how it turns out, or better yet, can you send me a photo of your someplace special?I'm looking forward to seeing what you can come up with!
